Graduation Requirements and 4-Year Planning

To graduate from Santa Barbara High School, students must complete the following:
A. 240 Credits in the following subject areas:
8 semesters of English
6 semesters of Math (including first year Algebra)
4 semesters of Physical Education (2 semesters required in Grade Nine)
1 semester of Health Science
4 semesters of Science (Two semesters each of Life Science and Physical Science)
2 semesters of World History or World Studies
2 semesters of American or US History
1 semester of American or US Government
1 semester of Economics (not to be taken concurrently with Government)
2 semesters of Fine Art or Foreign Language
1 semester of Fine Art, Foreign Language, or Technology Education
16 semesters of Elective credit
B. California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE):
One section of English and one section of Math; taken for the first time in Spring of 10th grade.
C. Community Service
60 hours certified by Counseling Office.
