The Industrial Technology Department hosts a variety of courses that meet the University of California's entrance requirements for electives. Course offerings range in area of specialty from Auto Body and Woodworking classes, to highly skilled computer programming and computer graphics classes, to television production classes. Students have the ability to choose their area of interest and their ability level during the registration process.

Many students participating in our computer graphics and television production classes have won awards and college scholarships over the years. In 2008, Santa Barbara High School student Tony Johnson won the 10-10-10 Student Filmmaking Competition and Michael Bagdasarian won the 10-10-10 Student Screenwriting Competition during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Here at Santa Barbara High School, we air a weekly video bulletin during second period every Thursday that is designed to inform the student-body of school-wide, local, national, and world-wide news. This news program is termed Channel 6 Action News and is entirely student produced. Visit the Channel 6 Action News website to view previous bulletins.
